Using Lens Desktop#

Lens Desktop is a standalone application available for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Its interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate. In this section, you can find short descriptions of the main interface elements and views.

  • Hotbar


    The Hotbar is a panel on the left side of the Lens Desktop interface that provides instant access to the user clusters.

  • Details panel


    The details panel provides details about cluster objects expanding the information displayed in views.

  • Nodes view


    In the Nodes view, you can manage your Kubernetes cluster nodes.

  • Workloads


    The Workloads subsection contains descriptions of views related to Pods and workload resources.

  • Config


    The Config subsection contains descriptions of views related to enhancing, configuring and optimizing Kubernetes clusters.

  • Network


    The Network subsection contains descriptions of views where you can manage Kubernetes API objects that are responsible for connectivity to a cluster and within a cluster.

  • Storage


    The Config subsection contains descriptions of views where you can manage Kubernetes API objects that are responsible for managing resource allocation and storing sensitive data.

  • Namespaces view


    In the Namespaces view, you can manage the cluster namespaces.

  • Events view


    In the Events view, you can manage Kubernetes events.

  • Helm


    The Helm subsection contains descriptions of views where you can manage Helm charts and Helm releases.

  • Access control


    The Access Control subsection contains descriptions of views where you can manage Kubernetes API objects that are responsible for controlling the access to the cluster and permissions within the cluster.
