Create cluster resources#

There are several ways of creating a cluster resource in Lens Desktop. First, you can create a cluster resource from a pre-configured resource template. The second way is to create a resource through an appropriate dialog menu where you can set the resource parameters. This option is available to a limited amount of cluster resources, and you can use it by clicking the Add Resource button in the lower-right corner of the resource tab.

Create resource from a template#

To create a cluster resource from a template:

  1. Click New tab > Create resource.
  2. In the Select Template pop-up list, select a resource type.
  3. Make the necessary changes and click Create & Close.

Use a dialog menu#

For example, to create a secret through a dialog menu:

  1. Navigate to a resource page and click Create new Secret add in the lower-left corner of the page.

  2. In the following dialog menu, configure necessary parameters and click Create.

You can create the following cluster objects by using dialog menus:

  • Resource Quotas
  • Secrets
  • Namespaces
  • Service Accounts
  • Cluster Roles
  • Roles
  • Cluster Role Bindings
  • Role Bindings
