This page contains instruction for the OpenAI LLM connection.

To connect Lens Prism to OpenAI:

1. Log into the Open AI Platform with your personal or organization email.
2. In the upper-right corner, select Dashboard and then, in the navigation panel on the left, open the API Keys menu.

3. Click Create new secret key and, in the following modal, configure the key:

   Parameter	Recommended value
   Name	Lens Prism
   Project	Default project
   Permissions	All

   Proceed to the next step by clicking Create secret key.

4. In the following modal, click Copy, then Done.

   Info

   For security reasons, you cannot view or copy an existing API key again after you have created it. Keep that in mind when configuring Lens Prism, and do not copy anything else until you have the OpenAI API Key field configured. Otherwise, revoke the key and create a new one.

5. Open Lens Desktop and navigate to Preferences > Lens Prism AI.

6. In AI Provider, select OpenAI and specify the following parameters:

   Parameter	Recommended value	Comments
   OpenAI API Key	api-key	Paste the API key from the step 4 of this instruction
   Custom Instructions	-	Optional. Set up personal preferences, such as language, specific details, and so on. These instructions are appended to every prompt as a guidance to personalize and improve Lens Prism responses
