Navigator#

With Navigator, you can connect to your local and team space clusters. It allows navigating between cluster views and monitoring state of clusters.

Right-click on different items opens a context menu where you can choose different actions such as connecting to a cluster, opening the preferences or cluster settings menus, and other options.

Clusters are organized into two sections:

  • Kubernetes Clusters

Contains AWS EKS clusters and clusters from local kubeconfig files.

  • Teamwork

Contains clusters to which you have access through Lens Teamwork.

Use Up and Down buttons to move through the sections. Use Right to open and Left to close the section. You can also use Tab and Shift+Tab for navigation.

Resize the Navigator panel by dragging it from the right.

When you switch between multiple tabs from different clusters, Navigator displays the corresponding location.

You can focus on a specific section or cluster in Drill Into mode by clicking the chevron button to the right of the section header. When opening a section or cluster, Contextual Tab Filtering feature filters the tabs and displays only relevant to the section or cluster, temporarily hiding previously opened others. To get back, click the chevron button in Navigator, or use the drop-down menu above to switch between different levels of the tree.

You can see how Drill Into and Contextual Tab Filtering work in a video below:

You can open a tab with the view in two modes:

  • Preview mode

Opens by a single-click (Enter) and reuses the existing tab when navigating to other views.

  • Fixed tab mode

Opens by a double click (Shift+Enter) and the tab is associated with the particular view. Navigating to other views opens a new tab.
