Reseller portal#
The Reseller portal is a dedicated area of the Lens Business ID portal for resellers. A reseller is an organization that purchases Lens subscriptions from Mirantis and sells them to other organizations or individuals, called customers. From the portal you can purchase subscriptions on behalf of your customers, track them in one place, and adjust or end them as your customers' needs change.
The portal is available to organizations that have been enabled as resellers. Once your Lens Business ID is enabled as a reseller, the reseller navigation replaces the standard Lens Business ID navigation, and the Lens Business ID selector lists only your reseller organizations. Only administrators of a reseller organization can access the Reseller portal.
Info
The Reseller portal currently supports self-service purchases paid by credit card. For invoicing or wire transfer, use the assisted paths: Online purchasing process for resellers and Invoicing process for resellers.
Become a reseller#
Reseller access is enabled by the Lens team. To have your organization set up as a reseller, contact support. Once your Lens Business ID is enabled as a reseller, the Reseller portal becomes available to its administrators.
Customer overview#
The portal home page lists every customer subscription you manage. Summary cards at the top show:
- Total customers — the number of customer subscriptions you manage
- Active — subscriptions that are currently active
- Canceled — subscriptions scheduled to end
- Total seats — seats across all of your customer subscriptions
The customer table below lists each subscription. Expired subscriptions are not shown in the table or counted in the summary.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Customer | Organization name for organization subscriptions, or the end-user email for single-user subscriptions |
| Plan | The Lens plan and billing cycle |
| Status | active, pending (a change is scheduled), or canceled |
| Seats | Number of seats on the subscription |
| Current period | Start and end dates of the current billing period |
Subscription types#
The plan you choose determines how the subscription is delivered to your customer.
- Single-user (Lens Plus) — a single-seat subscription for one individual. When you create it, the end user receives an email invitation to activate the subscription under their own Lens ID. These subscriptions are billed to your reseller account directly.
- Organization (Lens Pro and Lens Enterprise) — a multi-seat subscription for a customer organization. A separate customer account is created under your reseller account, and the customer administrator manages seat assignment within their own Lens Business ID.
Create a subscription#
Note
Before you can purchase subscriptions for customers, your reseller organization must have valid billing information on file. Add it under Billing if you have not done so already.
To purchase a subscription for a customer:
- On the portal home page, select Create Subscription.
- Choose a plan and billing cycle (monthly or annual).
-
Enter the recipient details:
- For a single-user (Plus) subscription, enter the end-user email and, optionally, a display name. The subscription defaults to one seat.
- For an organization (Pro or Enterprise) subscription, enter the organization name, the administrator email, and the number of seats.
-
Review the price preview. The preview shows the unit price, quantity, subtotal, tax, and the total amount due before you confirm.
- Confirm to create the subscription.
What happens next depends on the subscription type:
- For a single-user subscription, the end user receives an email inviting them to activate the subscription under their Lens ID.
- For an organization subscription, the customer administrator receives an invitation to manage the new customer Lens Business ID, where they can assign the purchased seats.
Modify seats#
You can change the number of seats on an organization (Pro or Enterprise) subscription as your customer grows or scales down. Single-user (Plus) subscriptions are fixed at one seat.
- In the customer table, open the actions menu for the subscription and select Modify Seats.
- Enter the new seat count.
- Review the price preview, which shows the cost impact of the change, including any credit from the existing subscription.
- Confirm the change.
Increasing seats applies immediately and is charged on a prorated basis. A decrease in seats is applied as a pending change that takes effect at the start of the next billing period; pending changes are reflected in the Status column.
Cancel and reactivate a subscription#
To cancel a subscription, open the actions menu for it and select Cancel Subscription. The subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period and is not renewed after that. Canceled subscriptions stay visible in the table with a canceled status until they expire.
To reverse a cancellation before the subscription expires, open the actions menu and select Resume Subscription. The subscription returns to active and renews as normal.
