Navigator#

The Navigator is your command center for organizing and accessing projects across all environments.


Overview#

The Navigator panel on the left side of Lens Loop shows:

  • Environments — Local and remote servers where your traces are stored
  • Projects — Collections of related traces within each environment
  • Open Tabs — Quick access to views you're currently working with

Environments#

Environments appear at the top level of the Navigator. Each environment can contain multiple projects.

Environment Type Description
Local Built-in environment on your machine
Remote Shared Loop Server your team connects to

Adding Environments#

Click next to Environments to add a remote environment. See Add Environment for setup instructions.


Projects#

Projects group related traces together. Use them to organize by:

  • Application or service
  • Feature or experiment
  • Development stage (dev, staging, production)
  • Team or individual work

Creating Projects#

  1. Select an environment in the Navigator
  2. Click next to the environment name
  3. Enter a project name

Auto-created projects

Projects are created automatically when you send a request with an X-Loop-Project header that doesn't match an existing project.

Project Actions#

Right-click a project to:

  • Rename — Change the project name
  • Delete — Remove the project and all its traces

Working with Tabs#

When you open a project view (Overview, Traces), it appears as a tab. You can:

  • Open multiple tabs — Compare traces across projects
  • Reorder tabs — Drag to rearrange
  • Close tabs — Click the icon or middle-click
